About Our Program

The Special Education division of the Santa Barbara County Education Office is comprised of three departments provides services to students with unique needs. Our programs and services include Early Start, Special Education Preschool, Regional Center, direct service to districts, and WorkAbility.
We believe in the voice of the family, the view of the student, and the desire of the community to support students and enhance the student experience and learning.

About Direct Service Districts

SBCEO provides all Special Education services for students enrolled in small districts with fewer than 900 students and provides additional contracted services at the request of the District Superintendent.
