Santa Barbara County Education Office hosts annual county spelling bee
On Thursday, February 27, the Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO) will host the annual county spelling bee for students in grades 4-6 and grades 7-9. Approximately 200 students from public and private schools throughout the county are expected to compete. Winners will then proceed to the state contest.
Volunteers from Masonic Lodge #192, the Town and Country Women’s Club, and the Women’s Service Club of Goleta will once again serve as judges. The media is welcome to attend the event.
The contest for 4th-6th grade students begins at 9 a.m. The competition for 7th-9th grade students will begin at 1:30 p.m. The competition will be held at the SBCEO Auditorium at 4400 Cathedral Oaks Road. More information is available from Rose Koller at (805) 964-4710, ext. 5222.
